OpenGAP, the Git Agent Protocol, is an open standard I contribute to that treats an AI agent as a git repository: the agent's identity, rules, skills, and tools are version-controlled files rather than opaque platform state. Any runtime that speaks the standard can bring the same agent to life.
The standard has earned 2,800+ GitHub stars and includes first-class compliance support for FINRA, Federal Reserve, and SEC requirements, making it practical for regulated industries. It anchors an ecosystem that includes GitAgent and ComputerAgent.
